1. This is information, not advice
The guides, service pages, case studies, checklists and calculators on this site describe how Turkish law generally works. They are not legal advice and cannot be. Advice requires someone to read your documents, ask you questions, check the current state of the rules and take responsibility for the answer. A public web page does none of that.
Two matters that look identical in summary often resolve differently because of a date, a permit type, a clause in a contract, a prior application or a nationality. If your decision matters, have it checked against your own file.
2. Reading this site does not make you a client
No lawyer–client relationship arises from reading these pages, from sending the contact form, from booking a consultation slot, or from an initial exchange of e-mails or WhatsApp messages. It arises only when the firm has checked for conflicts of interest, agreed to act, and a written engagement is in place.
Until that point:
- What you send is not protected as a client communication. Please do not send confidential documents, identity or passport copies, title deeds, or case papers before you are asked for them.
- We may be unable to act for you — for example if we already act for someone on the other side.
- No deadline stops running. Turkish immigration, administrative and criminal procedure runs on short periods, and several of them cannot be restored once missed. Sending us a message does not pause any of them.
3. Turkish law only
The firm's attorneys are qualified and licensed to practise in the Republic of Türkiye. Nothing on this site is advice on the law of any other country, and it should not be read as an opinion on how a foreign court, tax authority or immigration service will treat the same facts. Where a matter crosses borders, local counsel in the other jurisdiction is usually necessary as well.
4. Past results do not predict future ones
The case studies describe work the firm has actually done, with client-identifying details removed. They are illustrations of approach, not a forecast. Outcomes depend on facts, evidence, the authority or court deciding, and on law that may since have changed. No outcome is promised, implied or guaranteed — and an application's success is never within any attorney's gift.
Be careful with anyone who tells you otherwise. If you are offered a guaranteed residence permit, a guaranteed citizenship approval, or a guaranteed court result for a fee, that is the point to stop and verify. You can check that any person claiming to be a Turkish attorney is on the roll of their bar association, and you should.
5. Information ages
Turkish legislation changes often: statutes are amended, monetary thresholds and official fees are revised annually, administrative practice shifts, and courts change position. Each page reflects our understanding on the date shown on it. A date on a page means the page was reviewed, not that every rule referred to in it has been re-verified that day. Always check the current position before acting.
Where a page cites a statute, a regulation, an Official Gazette publication or a Turkish Statistical Institute figure, the official source governs — not our summary of it.
6. Language and translation
This site is published in English, Arabic and Chinese so that our clients can read it. Turkish law is made, applied and interpreted in Turkish. Every translated term here is an approximation chosen for clarity, and no translation on this site — ours or a browser's — has legal force. Where a translated page and the underlying Turkish legal text differ, the Turkish text governs.
7. Summaries produced by other systems
Search engines and AI assistants increasingly quote and paraphrase pages like these. We have no control over how they select, compress or combine our text, and a confident-sounding summary can drop the exception that decides your case. If an assistant tells you something about Turkish law and cites this firm, please open the page it cites and read it. Our reference page explains how we would like this content cited and where its limits are.
8. Professional rules
The firm practises under Attorneyship Law No. 1136 and the professional rules of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations, which restrict advertising by attorneys. This website is published as professional information within those rules. It is not a solicitation, it does not compare the firm to other practitioners, it makes no claim of superiority, and it quotes no fee as an inducement.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Turkish law, Bayraktar Attorneys accepts no liability for loss arising from reliance on this website by anyone who is not a client under a written engagement. This does not limit an attorney's professional liability towards an actual client, nor any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
