Foreigners can acquire Turkish citizenship mainly by investment (real estate of at least USD 400,000, or USD 500,000 in deposits, bonds, fund shares or fixed capital, kept for three years, or employing 50 people), by marriage to a Turkish citizen after three years of continuing marriage, after five years of continuous legal residence, or by descent from a Turkish parent. Every route also requires that there is no national security or public order obstacle.
The checker compares your answers with the main routes in the Turkish Citizenship Law, Law No. 5901, and shows which ones appear to be open now and what is still missing for the others. It does not replace a review of your documents.
For the details of each route see our Turkish citizenship service, the guide to citizenship by investment and the guide to five years of residence. The official certificate of eligibility (uygunluk belgesi) that investors obtain is a separate document issued after the investment.
