["Transport trucks at a logistics hub in Türkiye representing TIO license requirements"]

The TİO Certificate (Taşıma İşleri Organizatörlüğü Yetki Belgesi) is a license issued by the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure under regulations that came into force on January 1, 2019. It grants companies and individuals the official authorization to engage in logistics activities involving road, air, sea, or rail transport.

The purpose of the certificate is to ensure that logistics operators provide services in a regular, supervised, and safe manner. Holding a TİO Certificate proves compliance with legal standards, strengthens client trust, and facilitates international trade operations.

Meaning of TİO

TİO stands for "Taşıma İşleri Organizatörlüğü," which translates as Transport Works Organization. In practice, it means that the license holder is authorized to organize, coordinate, and provide safe transport services.

Why Is the TİO Certificate Important?

  • Ensures secure transportation in import and export operations.

  • Allows logistics organizers to operate in compliance with international laws.

  • Provides companies and individuals with an official permit to work in the logistics industry.

  • Protects the rights of shippers and consignees.

  • Creates a regulated and trustworthy environment in the logistics sector.

Because logistics operations frequently involve cross-border carriage, operators should also be familiar with international transportation law in Türkiye, including the contracts and risks that govern these activities.
